Geoff Morris OBE
Geoff Morris OBE has held senior roles in the non-profit and education sectors for some 30 years. Prior to joining Cambridge, he was CEO of children’s charity Wooden Spoon, having previously built a reputation for his work with disadvantaged children at Barnardo’s. Most recently, Geoff led a small team supporting transitional work at the University of St Andrews, specifically Eden Campus. The team has taken the site from a state of dereliction to a cluster of complementary initiatives that will create innovative products, local jobs and a sustainable future for the Campus. Eden Campus is in the vanguard of the University’s climate response work.
Geoff originally joined St Andrews to run the 600th Anniversary, having previously overseen the 800th Anniversary for the University of Cambridge. Both were significant landmark events regarded as ‘once in a lifetime opportunities’. He built a reputation for ‘pulling rabbits from hats,’ connecting people and ideas, enhancing pride in communities by respecting the past, celebrating the present, and offering insight into the future.
Geoff’s early career as a junior economist was kicked into gear when, like many, he was moved to do something in response to the Ethiopian Famine in 1983 and beyond. Working on Live Aid and Fashion Aid, he developed fundraising skills and a passion for helping others that translated into offers of work.
Today, Geoff takes on a limited number of projects for Inclusiq and St Andrews.
